Terms and Conditions
When you book sessions with Wild Roots Forest School, please be aware that the following terms and conditions apply:
Cancellation
If Wild Roots Forest School ever needs to cancel sessions due to unforeseen circumstances such as dangerous weather conditions (generally only thunder storms, extreme wind and extreme cold) or for any other reason, we will always give as much notice as we possibly can. If this is a paid session we will try to add a replacement session at another time, or if this is not possible we will offer a credit voucher or a refund.
If a participant is ever unable to make a session, please let us know in advance.
For block-booked after-school sessions, the booking is for a complete term. If a child misses a session due to illness or any other reason, refunds are not possible. If a child wants to leave the sessions part-way through a term, refunds will only be possible if we are able to find someone else to take their place. If we are unable to do so, a credit voucher to be used against future sessions will be issued.
For holiday-club bookings, if a place is cancelled 7 days or more before the date of a session you will receive a full refund. Cancellations between 1 and 7 days of the start date will receive a credit voucher to be used against future sessions. Any cancellation on the day will incur full costs for the session.
Behaviour
We believe that emotions should be felt and expressed rather than bottled away, and will try to resolve any issues through talking them through. However, we will not tolerate aggressive or violent behaviour from participants or adults. If we feel that a child or parents’ behaviour is ever putting other children or staff in danger, we reserve the right to ask that child to leave the group.
Illness
Coughs and colds are all part of day-to-day life and we wouldn’t want a child not to attend a session because of a sniffle. However, if a child has a temperature or is not feeling well enough to enjoy Forest School, please keep them at home. Remember we are outdoors the whole time!
Likewise, anyone who has experienced vomiting or diarrhoea should not attend for 48hours. There is lots of sharing of tools and even with hand washing, germs will spread.
If a child falls ill during a session we will call emergency contacts to arrange collection.
Resources
Wild Roots Forest School will provide all the tools and materials that a session needs. Please don't send a child in with their own penknife or other tool, or materials that might harm the forest environment. If a child brings in their own tool or materials, we will remove them and return them to the collecting adult at the end of the session.
Data Protection
Wild Roots Forest School will not sell or share your information with any other parties. We will only use it to contact you with news related to Wild Roots Forest School sessions. We comply with the Data Protection Act 1998.
Personal/Medical Information
Please ensure you complete the registration form prior to attending any sessions.
If your child has medication e.g. inhaler or epi-pen, these must be provided in a clearly labelled, waterproof bag/case. They will be returned to you at the end of the session.
Please also advise us how we can help with any educational, behavioural or communication needs.
Photographs
We will take photographs so that we can share the children’s activities and achievements with parents and the wider Forest School community.
Please make sure you have completed the Photography permissions section of the registration form before attending any sessions.
Feedback
We hope every participant enjoys and benefits from our sessions but we understand that sometimes things don't always go to plan.
If you have feedback for us, good or bad, please email kath@wildrootsforestschool.co.uk
